Privacy Policy for Selyo

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Selyo is made by Levy Mendenilla (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what Selyo does with your information. It is short because Selyo does very little with it.

The short version

Selyo does not collect your data.

There is no account to create, no server to send anything to, and no analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind in the app. Your photos, your cards and your settings stay on your device.

What Selyo stores, and where

Everything Selyo keeps is stored on your device, inside the app’s own private storage:

None of this is transmitted anywhere. Deleting a card in the app deletes its photo from your device. Uninstalling Selyo removes all of it.

Permissions Selyo asks for, and why

Camera. Used to frame and take the photo that becomes your card. The photo is written to Selyo’s private storage on your device. Selyo does not record video and does not use the microphone.

Location (optional). Only if you choose to use it. When you tap to set your postmark, Selyo reads your device’s location once and converts it into the name of the town you are in — for example, IMUS PH. Only that town name is saved. Your coordinates are never stored and never included in your cards. Selyo never reads your location in the background, and the app works normally without this permission: you can type a postmark town yourself, or leave it off entirely.

Photo library (optional). Only used when you choose to save a card, or the original photo, to your device’s photo library. Selyo writes to your library and does not read or browse your existing photos.

The one time information leaves your device

To turn your location into a town name, Selyo asks your device’s own mapping service to look it up — Google on Android, Apple on iOS. That lookup sends the coordinate to that service, which handles it under its own privacy policy, not this one:

This only happens when you actively ask Selyo to set your postmark from your location. If that lookup is unavailable, Selyo falls back to an offline list of cities built into the app, which involves no network use at all.

Selyo makes no other network requests. It has no server of its own.

Sharing

When you share a card, Selyo hands the image to your device’s standard share sheet and you choose where it goes — a messaging app, email, or anywhere else. What happens to it after that is governed by whichever app or service you chose. Selyo is not involved in the transfer and keeps no record of it.

Children

Selyo is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. As described above, it does not collect personal information from any user, of any age.

Your control over your information

Because everything is stored on your device and nothing is sent to us:

There is no data held by us to request access to, correct, or export, because we hold none.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
